Fetching a Recording from a Specified Date/Time

Updated over 2 months ago

With the Save My Play camera system, you have the ability fetch video from an arbitrary time, within a certain time period, whether or not there was a specific recording taking place during that time.

This functionality is useful for:

  • fetching game footage when a player or coach forgot to initiate a recording and decided they want it after they played

  • viewing footage of security or liability incidents after they occur

  • fetching smaller portions of larger recordings or events as individual video segments for easier sharing/organizing

With our default settings, you can generally fetch any footage going back 5-7 days, but the exact lookback period depends on court usage since the cameras use motion to determine when to store video footage. This period can be extended if needed - please contact [email protected] for more info on configuration if changes are wanted.

To fetch recordings, just follow these simple steps:

1. Click/tap whichever court you want to fetch a video from

2. click the "Fetch video from camera" button

3. click the date selector box (box that says "please select day and time")

4. Click on the day number you want to fetch the video from. and select the start time of the footage you want to receive. Click the blue "select" button to confirm entry for the time.

Please note that timezone of your computer is used for timezone - meaning if you're currently in a different timezone than the facility timezone, you'll need to enter the date/time relative to when it would take place in your current timezone.

5. Use the duration slider to select how many minutes the fetched recording should be. Optionally check "enable AI if available" to have our gap removal, highlights, and gesture detection AI run on the recording. Optionally enter any email address (ex. a player's email) to have this newly created recording emailed to them automatically when it's ready. Click "Fetch Video" to finish the process and initiate the video fetching.

Your video will now be fetched/processed and an email will be sent when it's ready. A number of different factors determine processing time. If the fetch begins and then shows a message stating "the video could not be fetched" - it means that the requested footage is too far in the past and no longer available for fetching.
